Clearline Home FAQ

Short answers for San Diego County homeowners comparing under-sink RO, whole-home filtration, shower filters, and faucet options - and how licensed contractors handle installs when needed.

Clearline Home helps homeowners choose under-sink reverse osmosis or whole-home filtration, then connects them with a licensed California contractor for the install. We do not hold a contractor license.

What does Clearline Home do?

We help San Diego County homeowners compare water filtration options (under-sink RO, whole-home filtration, shower filters, faucet filters) and connect them with licensed California contractor partners when installation work requires a license.

Do you hold a California contractor license?

No. Clearline Home does not hold a contractor license. Installation work that needs a license is performed by licensed California contractor partners (commonly C-36 Plumbing and/or C-55 Water Conditioning, depending on the job and the partner). Partners work under their own license and insurance.

What is under-sink RO?

Under-sink reverse osmosis (RO) is a point-of-use filtration system installed beneath the kitchen sink. It treats water at a single point for drinking and cooking.

What is whole-home filtration?

Whole-home filtration treats water where it enters the house. The goal is filtered water at multiple fixtures, though actual coverage depends on the system design and your plumbing.

Can I get both RO and whole-home?

Yes. Some homeowners combine under-sink RO (for high-purity drinking water) with whole-home filtration (for showers, laundry, and other fixtures). We can help you decide if that makes sense for your situation.

Do you offer shower or faucet filters?

Yes. Shower filters and faucet-mount filters are simpler, lower-cost options. They can improve water for specific fixtures without the investment of whole-home filtration.

Where do you serve?

San Diego County, including Poway and nearby communities.

How does the process work?

Tell us about your water situation and goals. We recommend a setup (under-sink RO, whole-home, or both). If installation requires a licensed contractor, we connect you with a licensed California contractor partner who handles the work under their own license and insurance.

How do I contact you?

Use the contact form on our homepage or email hello@clearlinefilter.com.

Do you help with filter changes after install?

Yes. We provide filter-change guidance after installation so you know when and how to replace filters.

How much does it cost?

Costs vary by system type, home layout, and contractor rates. We give you a clear picture of options and pricing before you commit.

Is whole-home filtration the same as a softener?

No. A water softener addresses hard water (calcium and magnesium) to reduce scale buildup. Whole-home filtration targets other concerns like sediment, chlorine, and taste. They solve different problems and can sometimes be used together.
